The Gold of the Rivers' Banks

The Gold of the Rivers' Banks

All along the day, you will discover the home of the world known sweet white wines:

-The prestigious wine appellations located on the right bank of the Garonne river such as Sauternes, Barsac and Cérons that include a number of Chateaus whose “golden wines” were the only white to be classified in 1855.

-The appellations of the left bank such as Cadillac, Loupiac and Sainte Croix du Mont. All these three appellations belong to a hillside privileged territory where there are, from the Gallo-roman era, large agricultural fields at the origins of the first vineyards in Bordeaux.

You will also discover the rich cultural heritage of the Garonne hillsides made of medieval villages and numerous historical remains from different periods.

You will taste Gourmet wines “par excellence” some of them with an exceptional cellaring potential that are the perfect accompaniment to both savoury and sweet food.

These wines are the result of a delicate and complex winemaking process you will discover during the tour.
