CUVEE VALENTINE by Valentine 2012 (Château Lamothe de Haux)

A blend of Sauvignon blanc and Sauvignon gris for an explosion of aromas !

A elegant fruity white wine that combines strengh and finesse

An unusual grape variety, Sauvignon Gris, makes up 50% of the blend, completed by 50% Sauvignon blanc. The wine is fermented in new barrels and aged on its lees for approximately 6 months to produce a wine of considerable power and finesse. The oak does not overshadow the wine’s intrinsic flavor and combines beautifully with the fruit.

Tasting notes:

The nose is fresh and delicate and reveals gradually mineral notes, white flower notes , fruity notes  (grapefruit, litchi) and  subtle notes of butter.

Smooth attack on the palate, the structure is strong, enhanced with a high volume of onctuosity and with a long fuity finish

Tasting advices:

Best served at 10°

A wine to drink with fish, seafood (lobster, crab, etc.), and smoked salmon, or with a good ripe brie or camembert.

Best appreciated young, and up to 2-3 years after the vintage.

The wine estate

Located in the commune of Haux, on top of a clay-limestone slope in the heart of the Bordeaux wine country, chateau Lamothe de Haux has been devoted to winegrowing from the very beginning, and has belonged to the same family for 4 generations. The 80 hectares of vineyards, including those of neighbouring Château Manos, purchased in1991, are managed by Anne Néel and her children, Maria & Damien Chombart.
